Has anyone ever replaced the aluminum driver in a KB-12 with a paper one, or anything else for that matter? I'm looking for a little less brightness in the tone.

Maybe there is a coating or something you can apply so it doesn't have that aluminum can sound.

you are going to need to know the volume of the airspace and port diameter, among other things. you just can't stick any old speaker in there. I doubt you are going to find a conventional driver with the same thier-small parameters.

If you were to measure the internal volume of the cabinet then more people would be able to offer opinions on driver replacement...
