I've been seeing ads in the classifies here for Krivo magnetic pickups for the past couple of weeks or so. Does anyone have any experience with these? I've always been curious of how a magnetic pickup would work for me.

I bought one myself in the past year (second-hand) and was very disappointed.
Sounded like a bass guitar, very noisy, and uneven response.
Apparently, the new ones are noiseless.

Had an old one and it was ok. New ones are probably better. If you are really serious about a magnetic pickup for upright bass the Biesele is the real deal. Here's a video of one up close:
