Double Bass Krivo pickup & feedback...

hi every one,

i need some help i am a bassplayer from the Netherlands so sorry for my English..

i am a doubler so play also uprightbass in a blues / folk band and use a magnetic Krivo pickup..

I use a little bit foam or a towel between the top and the tail to avoid feedback still sometimes feedback so more demping is needed?

who can help me with this?

greetings

Rather than damping the body any more which can have a very negative effect on your sound I would try raising the amplifier above the body of the bass between chest and shoulder height. This will help a lot. I did this with a short speaker stand and it worked very well. If your amp is too big for this at least get it up on a chair or something and tilt it up so it's not pointing at the bass.

The other thing that is very effective is a parametric EQ to reduce the frequencies that are feeding back. It's important to get something like the Empress ParaEQ that will give you narrow Q so you are only taking out the frequencies that are feeding back and leaving the ones that aren't. If you cut with too broad a Q it will kill the feedback but ruin your sound.
