La Bella Copper Wound: New strings

If you like flats or tape-wound strings, these are terrific! I put a set of these on my Brice short scale 5-string fretless, and they sound great! I tune E to C, so I'm looking for good midrange. There is a tape winding over the copper. I got the standard gauge rather than the light, as I think that heavier gauges are less "floppy" on a short scale.
They are very finger-friendly and playable, the sound is excellent.

Are you talking about the LaBella Copper White nylon tape wound strings?

If so, I loved them on my fretless Rob Allen but absolutely hated them on my active fretted Fodera 5er.

They do sound great on my 1974 Precision though. IMO, they sound best on passive basses or those with a piezo pickup.

I prefer them to black tapes and most flats though. They have a great feel to em and are fairly bright.
