LaBella Deep Talkin Bass 760RM

So I recently acquired a couple sets of 760RM 44/61/85/110, and rather like them. Apparently these are discontinued. (Of course they are.)

So I'm trying to find out which of their current offerings are closest to the 760RM. LaBella fan boys any help would be appreciated.

Also interested in hearing about offerings from other vendors if they're real, real close.

I'm shooting in the dark here as I've had no experience with the LaBella DTB Rounds...

I might suggest the GHS Super Steels. They're not overly zingy up top, but have a nice midrange bite in a vintage sort of way. Maybe they can be described as "deep talkin'"? ;)

After no success in finding more of these unicorns, I had to switch to something more available. I've since fallen in love with D'Addario EXL170s.

Your message in a different thread has prompted me to look into this...

As much as DTRs are/were my favourite bass strings ever, I don't believe I could live with the gauges chosen for that set. A 100 E string on SS bass is a hard pass for me regardless of the manufacturer.

I agree with the tension - and that the heavy top and light bottom don't balance very well. I currently run the flatwound 50-100 on my Höfner, but am looking for a more balanced set, too.
