Labella Flatwounds 760fs and 760fm?

In my quest for new flats I have been asking alot of questions about guages and deep sound from the d and g strings. I have learned that bigger guages isnt always better, but the brand you use. EVERYBODY keeps telling me that these are the darkest sounding strings and these are what I need to use.
Questions.
1. Do these need a break in period or are they dark from the start?
2. What size would work best for me? Are the 760fs deep enough or do I need the 760fm?
I use a pick when I play, they will be going on 2 of my p basses, and into my GK MB212
Im tired of harsh sounding D and G strings, and too much high end on those strings also.
Considering these are expensive I would rather get a better idea before buying them.

I have 760M set on a Pbass
They sound very good. (to me)

They are higher tension than the strings on my URB (Correlli medium)

Less tension than Fender or Rotosound flats.(of their heaviest strings--LaBellas have better dampening)

The lighter set will probably be fine.

I don't know if they normally require a break in period but I will say my 760FLs sounded better as time went on...after a year I really liked the sound and loved the feel.

However, D broke and I kind of wanted to try something heavier. I just put some 760FMs on and they definitely have more tension, I'm kind of hoping they will loosen up a bit in time (like the 760FLs did). The tone of the 760FM is dead on for what I was looking for. The 760FLs weren't quite there.

...which means the 760FSs might be really good since they are in between :)
