Lakland 55-02 strings

Lakland has their own custom strings they likely use. If it has silver silk that looks just like the metal then it should be them.
I don't know which specific set would come on that bass, but Lakland-branded strings are made by GHS.
Are they silvery and shiny in appearance? If so, they could be the Lakland version of GHS Bassics, which are nickel-plated steel roundwound with no silk and brass-colored ball ends.
You mean the ball ends are color-coded? What specific colors?
Those are D'Addario colors. Apparently not the factory strings.
Interesting @michael_t I bought it used and the previous owner got it new, said he never changed the strings.
Maybe some Lakland models are in fact factory-equipped with D'A XL Nickels these days, which is entirely possible considering how popular and commonplace D'A strings are as factory strings on a lot of makes and models. Two of my Yamahas did come with XL Nickels from the factory.
They’re very “spring-ee”, bend nicely. They don’t feel like steel strings to me, but I’m not an expert. I typically go with nickel strings.

Skylines come with D'Addarios. I am pretty sure EXL165's.

That is correct. I have a 55-02 that came with D'Addarios. From the Lakland website FAQ:
"USA and Classic Series Lakland basses come standard with Lakland Custom Wound stainless steel mediums, .045”-.105” (add a .128” for 5-strings). Skyline Series feature Nickle wrap D’Addario Mediums .045″-.105″ (.128″ for 5 string models)"
Not necessarily... I've been using 40-100 with a .120 for B and they sound great together. As far as non-tapered B's are concerned, I'm finding a smaller gauge for the B actually balances better tonally with the rest. For taperwound/exposed-core B's, I like .125 or .130 to go with 40-100.
