I’d steer clear of these. Skylines are going to be better quality because they go through the Lakland shop in Chicago, USA

I played one and it was awesome. I've owned USA, Korean and Indonesian Laklands and the "Japanese" one I played was just as awesome.

I'd give the slight edge to the sk4dx I played some years ago. I will say that my new (2020ish) 44-02 (Indonesian) is very, very close in build quality, tone and playability. I recall my sk4dk having slightly more vintage tone (a bit less modern). Hope that helps.

I have a Lakland 55-02 that was made in Indonesia and it plays and sounds wonderful! It's my best sounding and playing bass I have with the Ray4 coming in second.
