To my ears they sound more open, but thicker too. Definitely a wider frequency range. Nice glassy top, deep lows and great midrange growl. Similar to a Darkstar but more mids.

though i just put my F*nder on the block, so once it's gone, i'll have an all Lakland stable. it'll only be 2 basses, but it's still all Lakland!

yeah, it does. the F*nder i sold was a fretless P. i loved the sound but wanted a Jazz profile neck.
i also had zero demand for a fretless, but that never stopped me before.

side-to side I think anodized looks gorgeous. But I also love the looks of the black on red. To me, tort looks so much better on burst
