Lakland Owners Group #69

Gents, I just recently received a beautiful 2013 Lakland skyline dj4 Pearl white with maple board and pearl inlays and pearl PG. But when I received it I found some peeling of the clear coat film on the PG :-( . So I need to replace it with a new one or one that is new used. Can you point me in the right direction to accomplish this needed task. Thanks Jody....
Are you referring to the protective clear plastic that's on a new pickguard, that you're supposed to peel off?

Man, the Burbank GC was great (for me) back then! Lots of higher end stuff to check out and drool on. And great deals to be had thanks to the buddy model... The sound guy in the "chick band" I was playing in in those days worked there (Warren) and a manager (Todd) played bass in another chick band that we associated with. (Think Lillith Fair I guess?)

sweet...you know the bass player from Lillith fair?

Did you live out in Cali back then?

Lee's old 44-51 had some great BEM too. Wish I could track it down. I "need" a single coil 51!

wish I liked the neck profile on that one... :(

Someday a single coil 5er P will be in the collection....added to the "lust list"....

Maybe he doesn't want to scratch the pickguard... But I am pretty sure thats not what he means. lol
Just never heard of a "clear coat" on a pickguard. They're laminated plastic. And, never heard of a layer peeling off.

Btw, I've seen bass players locally that didn't realize there was a plastic sheet on their pickguard. I've educated several, LOL.

well then the Laminate is peeling off . Can you help educate me on where I can get a new one ?

Sure, and no disrespect meant. By "educate" I was talking about the local kids.

Jeannie's, Mike Quick and possibly Lakland can get you a new guard. I'm sure others will have more or better suggestions.

Thank you . I've never seen this before and should have been more descriptive, I prolly deserved to be razed a little . ;-) . I thought about calling Lakland today but didn't find time to do so. Thanks I'll check out the other suggestions you stated . Thanks Jody
