I had a DJ4 in that finish, sold it to get my US P/J 44-94, but actually miss the DJ4. Probably the best ‘Jazz’ I’ve owned!

What is that pick guard made out of. Looks like plexiglass with a mirror coating on the back side. Or is it a metal of some type?
It’s a mirror! But the mirror is grey on the inside...

Bought another 55-02. Found this in the TB classifieds. Super excited
Already got plans. She's going to get a set of nordstrand pickups. When my tech does the fret job I'm going to have him roll the fretboard edges. She's going to get a bone nut and considering upgrading to the real hipshot tuning machines.
Been getting to know my 55-02 over the past week and I’m happier every day with my decision to pull the trigger on this bass. So many tones.
My two cents: Unless you're having issues with the Skyline tuners, I'd skip the upgrade. I've had a few Skylines and a few US Laklands, and they've all held tuning remarkably well. The only difference, IME, is the US Hipshots do give a really smooth turn.
Ha, I spent aaaages choosing between the honeyburst and the spalted 55-02s! I went for the honeyburst for my fretless, just gotta wait for it... AAARGH!!! Help me someone!
