Lakland - Pickups

Fralins are in the Joe Osborn. They are mmmmmmmmmmagic.

There was a thread just recently that said Lakland will be switching to their own pickups as standard for all basses relatively soon. Try a search.

I wonder when the "switch over" officially occurs???? My DJ4 has been on order since November.....it is supposed to be delivered in the next couple of weeks.....wonder which pickups it will have????? almost like Easter when you know you are getting an egg, but what kind?????

Aero wires are plastic wrapped, Lindy Fralin wires are cloth wrapped.

The two woody pieces (or is it plastic?) that holds the bar magnets in between are reddish if it's Aero, they're greyish if it's Lindy Fralin.

I did not order mine, i bough it from e-bay so i'm waiting for the seller to ship it. Sorry you had to wait so long but i'm sure it will be worth it. I would say yours will probably come with the Aero pu's since Lakland has not started to put in the new pu's in theur Sig bases yet. Form all that i have read the Aeros are good quality pu's so i don't see a need to change them. In the event that you hate them you can always update to whatever Lakland will put out as their new pu's so i'm not too worried about the change. Who knows, the DJ's with Aero's in time may be a sought after item, only time will tell.:D

thanks for the clarification! It WILL be worth it!!! I am still not sure it will get the Aeros as I am not even sure the bass has arrived at the factory from Korea yet...I WAS supposed to get the bass earlier, but did not because they were "awaiting pick ups"...I did not ask any further questions....so maybe......I agree I will love her no matter which pick ups she has!!!:bassist:

I noticed you already have a Glaub, that is on my list for a next bass. My scheem is to get it in the same coor as my other bass so my gf wil not be able to tell the difference, he he. ony bring one out at a time.;)
