Lakland Skyline 44-01 vs 44-02

The price difference is 100% in the electronics/pickups. The body and neck are identical on them. The 01 uses foreign made pickups and electronics and the 02 has Lakland brand pickups. The 02 is more versatile but if you can find the tone you want in the 01, it's a killer deal. Really just comes down to what tone you want out of the bass.

This seems like a good post for this question.

Regarding the 44-02's and 55-02's....Besides the Lakland pickups, the Lakland pre-amp and the pleking, are there any other differances between the newer 44/55-02s and the older models.

Thanks

I had an indonesian made 44-02 but wasn't satisfied with the tone. A bit "impersonal" I have to say. So I sold it. A week ago I stumbles into an second hand Korean made 44-01 and gave it a try. Wow. It sounded mean, lots of growl and deepness. So I bought It and I have to sai do prefer 4401 to 4402.
