Lakland Skyline 44-02

I love mine. It does a killer job of getting a variety of tones and the neck feels great. It does the jazz and p-bass very well with a "stingray-like" tone thrown in. I usually like the "Lakland" sound (neck pickup + bridge pickup not split). Here is a pic from last year when i got it.
I had a beautiful sunburst 44-02, and someone stole it out of the back of the van while setting up for a gig 
i recently got the same bass as TheClaude has. Dont even think about it, get one and be happy. Try to get the Lakland p.u. model.

I guess you never replaced it?
Sounds crazy but I'm afraid if I get the 44-02 I won't need my American standard Fender jazz bass which I've grown attached to.
Is the 02 different enough from a jazz bass that I can use both?
I also have a killer Fender P/J. I'm guessing I can get a more modern tone than the Fenders will give me plus I like the 22 frets as I do like to do short fills up there when it fits and it's hard on the fenders to play around the 18th & 19th fret area. I actually had one on order at Sam Ash online and they charged me tax so I canceled the order for now and keep looking for a used one but I never see any just deluxe models which are more money and I actually prefer the look of the standard.

I have a Skyline 4402 Deluxe natural w a maple neck. That splits time with my 25 yr Old Smith as my #1
I have the 4402 with maple board and sunburst. It is amazing, it makes me so happy everytime i play it! It seems like i always find some new tone from it that is tons of fun. I recommend a set of Daddario EXL165's on it. It wasnt until i put those on that it really started to sing and growl. Theres really not a thing wrong with this bass (imo) and youd be really hard pressed (and ignorant) to think that you would need another bass. Get one!
Love it, currently stuck between Sunbeams and Nickel Lo-Riders, can't choose which ones I like more! Manufactured early 2007.
