This is a brand new USA Lakland 44 Dual J Classic. The bass was built earlier this year and it's wonderful but it's not getting played. The body is alder with a Lake Placid Blue finish, neck is quartersawn with rosewood fingerboard and birdseye maple dots. Neck width at the nut is 1-9/16". The controls are passive vol/vol/tone and the pickups are Hanson vintage single coils. Comes in the factory tweed hardcase with case candy. Weight is very light at 8.3 lbs.

Price is $1600 shipped SOLD

Bdgotoh,

do you have any sound clips of the basses (interested in the 5-string)? Or how you could, at least, describe the sound? Is it on the vintage side, does it have the low-mids punch or high-mids growl et cet.

I have 55-94 Deluxe and wonder how differently this one sounds. Thinking about changing to Classic but this one is rather unusual)

Very curious about the LPB Dual Classic J 4. I can't find clips of these anywhere online. I imagine they sound just like a J bass but I'm wondering how the pickup output compares to a classic J bass?
I generally play active or very hot passive basses.

But I love single coil tone and don't like Jazz bass necks so....

I find the single coils to be very vintage sounding, the output is good but not particularly hot. I have a G&L JB-2 and those single coils are much hotter than the Lakland set.

Hi! Great bass, really rare. In Lakland made only 3 of the bass, all in different colors: black, red and yellow. Black is now in Russia, I was the owner. It's amazing bass singles Chisonik creates a unique tone of this bass! Good luck with the sale!

hi, with the 5 string; do you know what year it is? Is that the old style cream lakland case? Any info/opinion on the chi sonics verses old lakland bartolini active pickups?
I have an old 5-94 w barts and thinking of switching basses...I like passive basses...thanks

Wow! How did I miss this post???

Midas is an excellent bass....

I have a JO5 with single CHis in it and it sounds massive....the first time I played it, the sound guy thought it was active.

$2000 is an excellent price for an excellent bass!

I made a run for the black one (now fretless and with a pre-amp) but we could not come to an agreement about shipping etc. from Russia.

This is a super unique and gorgeous bass...:bassist::hyper:

and $1600 for a NEW US built Lakie :woot:
