Laney Digbeth 500w vs Orange terror bass 500w

Hi!

Im looking at a new basshead amp and thought these ones looked good and would fit both rehersals and live giging I think?

But then to the question, which one would be the most preferable? Laney cost a lil bit less and I also think that amp is a bit more uncommon than the Orange? I like to be odd and not play amps and instruments not everyone else are playing haha
Then again the Orange have a tube pre-amp and might sound warmer and fuller than the Laney who just emulate the tube sound?

Anyone who have tried them and can give some advice?

I own both and am very happy with both. The Orange Terror Bass 500 v2 is a nice tuby sounding amp that can be set somewhat clean, but there is always a bit of crunch in the background. Great amp for Rock or Metal, but can also work with other genres. It does have a Fender tone stack so it is not very versatile, but what it does is really good. Crank up the Gain and it can get quite crunchy in a very good way. The notes are also quite thick and authoritative as well. The D and G strings will not get lost in a mix with this amp.

The Laney Digbeth 500 is a very versatile amp with it's two channels and four different mid settings. The FET Channel is clean, but not sterile clean. It has a very punchy, classic voice with a high damping type of feel. The Tube Drive Channel is emulation (no tubes anywhere) but wow what an emulation. It is easily the best non tube amp I have ever used if you are looking for a tube sound. Beautiful OD with a low damping type of feel to it. If you like OD, but want a bit more note solidity you can blend both channels for a combination of both. Very impressive amp.
