Any body ever used one of these theremins...they seem pretty cool.
that does look pretty cool.
Theremins are fun. I've been meaning to build/buy one for years. I've even got this on Laserdisc:
Thanks for giving me an idea!
*Runs off to attempt to program V Bass to sound like a Theremin*
The NIN DVD/CD "And all that could have been" Has great Theremin use. Charlie Clouser i believe. Watching him play on the DVD is cool as hell. I too have been meaning to get one, someday I will.
Unfortunately with currency conversion and shipping, that thing'll run you $200 USD. I'd rather spend $350 for a Moog Etherwave.
If you go to www.bostonguitar.com you can get one for $149.00
i have to second the awesomeness of the theremin on the NIN dvd
yeah, hiwatt makes a little theremin too. they're like $150 or so.
Have any of you used one of these??????? I would love to know how you liked it.
This one is way cooler...
I'll see your photo-theremin, and raise you....
A friend of mine built one from a kit, which we used a lot in our old band.
http://artists.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/Mud_Prophets/ Kerosene has some theremin.
My wife has one - I think it's the standard Etherwave. I have to admit that I gave up pretty quickly on it. For that matter, she did, too. Theremins are definitely cool, though!!!
I'm not really a fan myself. But if you really want to try one out just build one. Here, I'll even get you started
Ia ctualy have a Last Gasp "Green Monster Septic Fuzz" on the way from Analog man!... MMMMMMM Fuzzzzzz...
I know- I'm still waiting for the review. It buggs me to death that you can't hear it on the site. I'm expecting soundclips within hours of it's arrival.
....bollox, nevermind the theremin,
..look at that fuzzbox designed on a plane.
I actually saw Jason Newsted use one a couple of years ago when Echo Brain played a club here in Dallas. He made some really cool noises with it. I've seen another band use one and it's seemed pretty neat.
