I actually thought he looked OK. Remember the guy is 67 y.o. and he's put on some hard miles. It's nice to hear that slinky rhythm [plain got] STUPID AUTOCORRECT! [playing of] his again; haven't listened to much GD lately.

Weir actually looks better here than he has in the last few years. Look for the April 2013 Capital Theater Furthur performance on youtube and you'll see what I mean.
I'm glad they didn't pick Mayer as their lead guitarist for the Chicago shows. Interesting non the less.
Come to think of it, this IS a discussion forum, and worm-can opening is what we do here. Let's not hijack this thread, though. There doesn't seem to be a thread about the recently announced July shows, or controversy surrounding them, so I think I'll go start one. Meet me over in Miscellaneous....
I like Mayer with his Trio, but...idk, his tone here just seems anemic for the most part, although his solo on the 2nd clip is better.
