That's one handsome cab. Don's got talent, that's for sure. Judging by the position of the ports, I'm guessing the cab is internally divided ala an Ampeg fridge into two sections? I.E. two 4-driver enclosures?

What made you pick those Faital drivers? Had you heard bass played through them before? Congrats and good luck with it. I'm sure it sounds sweet.

The Bar Fridge. I love that! I picked the drivers bassed on the relatively flat response, that they can go up to around 5khz and the large x-max. I may try running some low frequencies through it for awhile tonight to break it in before the gig. Also, I need to try the reinner through it. Damn job. I need more time!

After that, it was pretty easy to figure out what I wanted. I just cranked it up pretty good and got a distance away. On a loud gig, I would set the amp flat without the tweet or with the tweet at 9 o'clock and be set. No eq needed. It sounds better the more I turn it up! It feels really good to get it right after trying alot of different cabs for the last few years. It's like a weight has been lifted. I can tell that the drivers are going to break in more.

Great looking cab ! Don't feel bad about not liking 3 ways, despite the science that says they are the best. I've tried a few myself, and I'm back to 2 ways ( and LDS 212/horn ). Don does great work and has built 3 cabs for me.

The cab is one big space inside, no divider in the middle. Just lots of bracing. I can't really tell but, it doesn't look like there is much damping material inside. Don must have done a good job tuning it because there is no boom or muddiness in the midrange. This morning before I left for work, I ran pink noise low passed at 50hz into the cab to get the drivers moving. When I get home I'll see if the sound has changed. I know it will because these drivers have a large xmax. 8 hours of that kind of abuse should equal 10 loud gigs. I'll try my genz 9.2, then the 70's svt and then the Reinner preamp. Then Im going into the inlaws pool. It is cooking here today!

Very good driver choice. I've worked with that woofer a bit, and like it a lot.

Still loving it. I broke the cab in with low frequency noise for 8 hours yesterday. It seemed to even the response out more. The only thing I can say that I alittle worried about is placement of this rear ported cab at certain clubs. At saturdays gig I'll have the option of either pretty much flat against a wall or out in the open away from any wall.
