what is the best way to learn how to read lead sheet as a bass player

well a lead sheet generally has chord symbols and a melody on it. As long as you can find the roots of the chords and understand the time signature and where the form is moving, then you're going to be pretty much all set. And becoming better and more relaxed with reading lead sheets just comes from doing it a lot and making it more a muscle memory thing than over thinking doing it.
