I worked for Showco 1982-87. I was hired by Donnie Kretzschmar, who happened to be one of the survivors of the Lynyrd Skynyrd crash. Sadly, Donnie died following a brief illness in 1986.

Donnie’s daughter, Indigo, has been documenting the history of Showco. She posted a short interview with Leland Sklar to her YouTube channel.

For anyone who has had the pleasure of talking to Lee, he's exactly the kind soul you see in any of his interviews. I was going to see one of his shows and happened upon him walking down the street just taking in the sites. He could not have been any more gracious and genuine. I asked if he wouldn't mind a photo, and he said of course. When I took out my phone, he saw the screen saver of my Dingwall, which led to a nice conversation about the brand.
