I recommend weekly (so that you regularly have something to look forward to and prepare for)... but if you're up for going in every week, not overdoing it is the key. I've advised many new players to go weekly but only do a half-hour a week.

An hour-long lesson each week can seem like an eternity, especially for kids and younger players.
