Hi, would you give me a small description of the Ibanez PD7.
I'm looking for a better overdrive, than my ODB-3.

I used to have the Boss, then I got a USA Big Muff, and now I have this. It's cheaper, better sounding, and more reliable than either. It's cool because you have a way to switch from a Distortion or just Overdrive on the pedal. Plus it's got a Clean Boost switch on it as well. And the Tone-Lok push-knobs are great, because they keep your settings. And for around $65 new, they're just all around a great deal.

I'm not a pedal guy. Just plug and play, but I have had several pedals in the 15 years I've been at this.

I am baffled though, because I have never heard of or seen the "Looper" and it seems that everybody has one. Who makes them? What are they? etc.

The "Looper" you are referring to, are a little "box", that keep unwanted noise from your stompboxes away from your signal chain, when the effect isn't used.

Theese loopers offers a "True Bypass" feeling.

I hope that some of the other TB'ers correct me if I'm wrong or I haven't explained appropriately

Some Looopers do exactly that, create a signal loop that is true-bypassed, like Beam-buddy said.

I got Dave at Loooper to make me an A/B box, also true bypass, to switch between my effects chain and my tuner. He'll make ya pretty much any "routing pedal" you can think of.

Other loopers are, in essense, samplers that can 'record' a riff and repeat it back forever so you can put another melody over the top of it. The Boss RC-20 Loop Station (I think) does this, and so does the Line 6 DL-4 Delay Modeler.

as a side note "Loooper" pedals also ahve an option to ahve a blend knob if you have a preamp that does not have one for its effects loop and want one. i find it especially handy, compact, and built to last....and a very reasonable price to boot.
