Lets talk Tremolo

tell more about the pulsar... can it get some heartbreaker chops? (you know, the one from Zeppelin)...

You can approximate Heartbreaker somewhat with almost any trem set to triangle or sine wave with moderate depth. But remember JPJ wasn't using a trem, he was playing through a Leslie.

korg ax3000b has a pretty wide open trem. very adjustable, can assign either depth or speed to expression pedal

i also use a red witch moon phase for trem sometimes, one of the settings is trem.. its nice cause its stereo... but its really a phase and kinda expencive.

the only thing about the gig-fx is it's kinda weird how there is no on or off button. if i accidently move it i could be screwed. Im also still undecided if i will use my foot or hand to operate the pedal since i will be using it with instruments other than bass.

besides the gig-fx im narrowing in on:

zvex tremorama

Zvex trem probe

Empress Tremolo

Line 6 MM4(i could use more than just the tremolo function)

Guyatone Ultrem(seems a bit much)

I think the zvex trem probe is just a booster that you control the volue of with your foot. So, you can get tremolo, but you're going to have to be good at shaking your foot.

I'd also agree that the empress doesn't quite sound like what you're after. Its got a couple preset patterns, but no pulse width adjustability to the lfo. The two speed mode might come close, but doesn't quite sound right for what you describe.

The tremulus lune is a pretty sweet trem, and with a second LFO for the speed I think it sounds like a better option than the empress on two speed for messing with the LFO.

ok. i'm gonna put my faves/what i like when it comes to trems (hardcore ones)

empress - con: i can't find any except that other trems has features this one doesnt. overall best one of the pack.
4ms- con: it's huge! one of the best sounding trems i've tried for sure.
lightfoot lab goatkeeper: con: never have tried it and impossible to find. this one seems like the holy grail of trems.
ggg ea clone: best simple trem out there. con: not many features at all.

i want to try the red witch pentavocal.
