Need help. I double on synth and bass guitar. At large gigs (>500 and outdoor venues) the synth can have way too much low end. I run both through an A/B/Y, into my amp, and use the amps DI. On stage both sound great because my amp doesn't produce the sub bass, but at large events the FOH subs knock people out if I'm not careful. Had this issue again tonight and I need to fix it. I mentioned the issue to the FOH engineer at check, suggested maybe a high pass at 60hz or something like that, but he just looked at me like I had three heads. Of course late in the set when the synth had his bass bins walking around his look was a lot different (more of a "what the fnck?" look).
How do pros handle this? Keyboard players must run into this all the time.
