Lh500 startup time

I just picked up a Hartke lh500 last week and with the soft start feature it takes about 13 seconds from power on until I get sound. I haven't experienced any other hybrid amps taking this long during startup so I thought I'd check with those of you that have experience with this amp to see if that is normal?

Every one I have seen does it. My LH1000 does the same thing.

I was hoping someone would chime in that knows the technology involved. I believe the delay is a byproduct of the Relay system(Protection circuit).

Never timed it, but my LH1000 also delayed it's start-up while it went through it's protection/fault check.

Both my hybrid Mesa M-6 Carbine heads also delay at start-up while running their protection cycle.

I use a G.K. MB2-500 head as a back-up head, it also has a delay at start-up to run it's faults checks (power switch changes color to blue when it's ready to play.)

My first Ampeg PF-800 could take anywhere from 20 seconds to a full minute to come on line.
