Anyone here use a custom gauge, 130, 100, 80, 60, 40?...I really like lighter gauge sets but anything under a 130 for the B is just too floppy for me. Would the string to string tension be awkward with this type of gauge? I am probably going to have to buy 2 sets to make it happen. I currently use Rotos. Thanks for any imput!

If you check the tension charts on D'Addario webside, balanced tension set on lighter gauge set is 40,55,70,95,130. The set you have set up is much closer in tension than a light 40,60,80,100,120 set. Any balanced tension set has a larger than standard B string. Go to BASSSTRINGSONLINE.COM, Jason has many different brands of strings available in singles. You can also buy a 4 string set and purchase the B string of your choice. Thanks to Bass Strings Online, I've found my 'holy grail' set:
40, 55, 75, 100, 135
Perfect feel for me, nice and balanced and not too stiff on the A and D strings.

Nice, mine seems to be either 30, 45, 60, 80, 105, 135 or 28, 40, 60, 80, 100, 125. Singles sets ftw. For some there's a prebuilt 4 or 5 and I just add the B or C.
That's similar to what I've got with my balanced tension Circle K set, and it's what I'll be trying next as a custom set of ProSteels from BSO.
No, your stated set is close to having equal tension strings, the gauges just look weird because most mainstream sets are extremely unbalanced.
As stated above 135 100 75 55 40 has equal tension strings. So go for it, experiment, find your ideal tension profile and take no notice of the mainstream standard gauges forced upon you, there is no good reason behind them.
Circle K Strings sell balanced tension sets and have something close to your custom set, otherwise build a set from singles.
I have a set of Ernie Ball slinky's 45-65-80-100-130. Right now the D string on my 35 scale is definitely the most stiff so I want to order a lower sized gauge off BASSSTRINGSONLINE to achieve progressive/balance tension (preferably want to bend the higher strings). What other gauge for other strings should I change too? My budget can only swap 2 or 3 strings.

Would be accurate for D'Addario strings, my gauge recommendations are approximate and may vary slightly depending on brand.

135 100 70 50 35 is 35 to 25 pounds with both the B and E at 35 pounds.
However i find the D'Addario app has a bug with the .050 string.
