lil help.

the preamp and the pickup i want to get both have the jack plug. how do i connect them? is the preamp just a piezo with an equalizer? that also has a jack... here the links, they are from a cigarbox vendor and going into a whamola. This is the smallest preamp I coiuld find, its still kinda big, all it looks like is a piezo rod hooked to equalizer
Ukulele & Cigar Box Guitar Pre-Amp Kit with 2-band EQ
this is the pickup, humbugger with tone and volume knobs, it has a jack too... see my question. howdo i make them both work?
[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
might as well include this to is the distortion
Ukulele & Cigar Box Guitar Pre-Amp Kit with 2-band EQ
thank you

The preamp appears to be designed specifically to work with the included piezo, are you trying to use it with the humbucker or trying to use both pickups at once? Assuming you are only trying to use the humbucker, you will need to strip the 2.5mm connector off the piezo and splice the two leads from the humbucker onto it (you don’t need any of the potentiometers or jack from the humbucker kit, as they are being replaced by the preamp). Given the humbucker will have a much different output than the piezo it is quite possible they won’t play well together- there could be distortion or odd tone.

well im still trying to configure everything to see what all is compatible. i had the humbucker kit picked out bc it included all the extra stuff but if i dont need it i can opt for just the pickup, or something else, im not commited to anything yet and dont really know what does what or goes together yet but im a fast learner. I can see why this draws so many people to it, as a hobby or lifestyle or whatever, theres alot to learn and its all very fascinating.
this is what im trying to replace, [Invalid or Expired Link Removed], i might end up just getting this item bc i cant find a simplified version like i have with everything else. was forwarded to me by a member of the community i am very grateful for all the help

Are you saying you already have the Darkglass pre or that you are just looking for a cheaper alternative? There are many cheap active preamps out there that like the Darkglass unit are designed for a standard magnetic pickup like the humbucker you linked to. The Darkglass is definitely a pricey option to start with if you’re not sure what you’re looking for.
