Line 6 FM4 with Expression Pedal

Hello all,

Been looking into getting an FM4 for a while and just had a quick question about the expression function and which expression pedal to buy.

Was wondering if I used an expression pedal with it could I have it so that the expression function didn't come on until I touched the expression pedal? As I would only want to use the expression pedal for filter sweeps on a preset or 2 not all of them.

Basically could I have it so all my parameters stayed the same until I started to use the expression and then when stopped using it would they return to my preset?

If that isn't the case with a standard expression which I don't think it is, is there an expression that does that?

The line 6 unit has very weird expression input I believe so you can't just buy any random expression pedal... Your best bet is to get the line 6 ex1, can't really answer your other question maybe look for similar application but for dl4, or something and you will get better result

So I have to get the specific Line 6 Expression, that's interesting... I suppose it's in the companies best interest to sell pedals that only work with their accessories but it's not heard of a lot these days I know it went on a lot in the 80's and 90's.
