Line 6 M - Tone-suck for bass?

Justin: I've seen you used the M-series stuff for NIN and in that Beck picture, etc... I've been thinking about picking up either the one-banger or the M9 (I think) because I'm rehearsing for some shows where I need a couple of short one-off effects on certain songs, and programming them into these little guys seems like a good way to get the tones without adding tons of pedals to my board.

My question: The older DL4 sized boxes were really noticeable tone-sucks on my bass, and I think even Keeley had a mod for that. Do the M's have the same problem?

You know what, they're terrible. So's the M9 I use a lot. Terrible - phase problems, the whole nine. I always keep them bitches on a true bypass loop, it's the only way.
