Line 6

Hi, has anyone tried the Line 6 LowDown HD400 with a 412VS cab?

Cheers
yep and I just upgraded to a Ampeg svt4pro and an Ampeg SVT810E. I will miss all the options but what I didn't like was the lack of full control on the effects and clean channel wasn't clean enough. Over all for the price it is a very good amp and combo

Line 6 excels at giving you a lot of decent usable sounds but none that are truly great. I believe the reason is because of two reasons: they treat bass as an afterthought to guitar, and because digital processing in inexpensive amps and pedals doesn't have enough processing power to achieve total greatness. I'd rather have an amp that gives you 4 or 5 really good sounds just from turning EQ knobs than 100 meh digital emulation sounds.

actually, their guitar amps are also generally seen as quite mediocre in the guitar world. I personally think it's because they're catering to people who are newer at the instrument, but still want decent power - the tones themselves would be distinguishable to someone who has been playing for a while, but to someone who is relatively new they might not hear much of a difference, and it would give them a good opportunity to find tones that they would like without having to buy several amps.
