I went to the new Guitar Center in Fairview heights, IL today to check out a MIA Fender Jazz Deluxe V. That bass was great, but I played through a Line 6 1x15 300w combo and I was shocked at how great this thing sounded. I'm old fashioned, I saw the Line 6 sampling as a bit of a gimmick, but when i played it, darn if it didn't sound great! The "clean" and "r&b" sounds were fine. The bass synth rocked just like a real analog keyboard (minimoog sort of sound.) The amp had great bottom and slapping sounded clear and crisp. The shocker was the price! I thought this was a $1,500 combo, but the price was $599! The only downside was the weight. This bass weighs at least as much a Yorkville XM200 2x10 (70lbs.) If my Portabass 228 didn't give me 200w at 31 lbs., I would definitely be in the market for a Line 6 amp. This amp has got to be most bang for the buck on the market!
