Listen up! Who is interested in a Meatbox alternative from Grobert effects?

As both the original and re-released versions of the DOD Meatbox are discontinued, many of us look for an alternative.There is the Mantic Hulk, with higher output, but it does have the eq controls hidden inside the enclosure.
Then the Polish company Grobert effect had the Meatboss, a "perfect evolution", with higher output than the original Meatbox, but still retaining all for controls on the outside. (And the Meatboss demo on youtube sounded very good, IMHO.)

However, when I got around to order a pedal, it was discontinued. I mailed the company owner, and he replied he wanted to focus on other pedals for the time being. I suggest anyone interested in buying a proper alternative to the Meatbox either post a comment here, or contact Grobert effect on their homepage. Maybe they will produce another batch of the Meatboss? I for one would be very interested in getting one.

You can find a Meatbox Reissue used for around $100 now. It'll probably take a while for the scarcity factor to come back into play. Also, DOD is coming back and who knows what their plans are for the future. Shipping to Sweden may be a different story, though.

They (Harman International) refused to sell to people outside USA. I tried, was denied.

Meatboss pricing from Grobert effects was better than second hand Meatbox. Shipping was cheaper for European buyers too. And it has more output, to correct a constant point of complaints for the DOD...

Oh, and Grobert Effects Meatboss was not made in China. Made in China is almost enough in itself for me, to avoid the DOD Meatbox.

I see NOTHING used around USD 100... Rather around USD 150 and up, plus USD 50-120 in shipping...

There are 10 used Meatbox RI's on Reverb for $109. Again, not sure about international shipping.

I expect people will start pricing higher as Thanksgiving approaches and the market will crater again in mid-January.

Pointless to bring up sellers that do not ship internationally. I see 3 DOD ones on Reverb, starting at EUR 158 + 31 for shipping.

Wait until mid-January then. The seasonality of the market will always come into play. Or make an offer. You never know what people will actually accept, compared to what they list for.

That model still suffers the below unity output level, corrected in Mantic Hulk and the Meatboss.
Plus the DOD is made in China. So DOD seems like the LAST option...

I think what you’re seeing is that there is a limited market for this reissue that you would like to see happen. There is a meat boss on Reverb right now for $90. It says to contact him for shipping

Out of curiousity did Grobert say “I’ll do it if you can get X amount of people to preorder a whole production run”, or is this just you trying to pressure Grobert into doing it by showing him how much support for the product there could potentially be?

No, I have no affiliation with them, I just mentioned I would bring up the topic, to see what the responses were. So far, it seems like a moderate interest...

The text in the ad is incorrect, as it is not a clone. Grobert says they have boosted the output substantially, to prevent the volume drop in the DOD pedal.

It costs $30 USD to ship a flat rate international padded envelope. Easy to do. You just have to print a form or two on the post office web site. Send him a message. Worst he can do is say “No”. Getting him to ship is probably more likely than getting a new run of pedals.
