Long time lurker, decided to post for the first time.

I'm in a pickle trying to decide between the two amps from the post title - Little Mark III and Peavey Mini Mega 1000. People on this forum always have wise comments and recommendations so I figured what better place to ask this question.

What would you pick? I'm looking for a versatile amp head on which I'll be able to play different styles. I mainly play prog rock/noise/metal but that doesn't mean that I don't like to play a bit of jazz or pop from time to time.

Both of them are pretty close price-wise with Peavey being slightly cheaper.

Ma main basses are G&L L-2000 Tribute, Spector Performer and Ibanez Blazer.

Hi schultheiss. I'm going to be honest with you and say I would not pick either one. I have never been a fan of Peavey bass amps and the Little Mark III is kind of meh sounding to me.

Now if you are totally set on those 2 brands I would recommend you check out the Markbass Vintage Gold Line. I was surprised I really liked that amp. Good luck.

This is from TomBowlus, Editor in Chief of Bass Gear Magazine - "Regarding harmonic content, the Peavey is far from sterile, but it definitely impresses you with its clarity, fullness, and balance from top to bottom. The headroom is quite apparent, as well, and the dynamics leave nothing to be desired, as well, IME/IMHO. Amazing amp for the money, and very competitive, regardless of price."

I love my Peavey Mini Mega and 1,000 watts for $399 used at GC.
I have had much more expensive amps and really have not recently been a huge Peavey fan but this amp kills.
I use it with 4, 5 electric and upright with two cab rigs.
I would suggest trying whatever you have interest in from a store that has a return policy because sometimes you won't know what you prefer until you take it home and plug everything up.
I recently tried 6 different amps before selecting the Peavey.
None were better or worse ,just different sound wise ,looks and ergonomics.
