LITTLE WIRING HELP NEEDED......

Trying to send along a pic of my Fender JP90 wiring. My question is......is there a problem with the fact there are 2 different gagues of wire in here? The 2 wires coming off the J pickup are definitely thinner than off the P pickup/pots. Is there a standard size wire? I'll go out and buy some if I know what size. I had hoped to simply throw in 2 new Bourn pots and a new cap, but I want the wiring right also.....can anyone help, please......Bud

The wire gauge should be left as is. If you were to try to solder new wires onto the pickups there's a strong chance you could damage the pickup itself.

He is 100% correct. Don't mess with the pickup wires. Wire gauge is of little importance anyway, for the currents flowing through a passive bass guitar that is.

I use 22 gauge stranded wire for my rewire jobs. Its more than adequate.

Thanks guys....although you scare me.....I de-soldered the pu's off my '73 jazz to send in to Fralin for rewind.....you got me worried about soldering the wires back on when I get them back.......Bud

The wire gauge doesn't matter.
You're only dealing with a few microAmperes current. Remember that the wire your pickups are wound with is like 42 or 43 AWG.

Aw! Line6man........hello. Thanks, I may shoot you guys a quick drawing of how I'm wiring this baby. Not sure what I see under the hood is the way it is suppose to be. Someone has done some lousy soldering too......Bud
