Living Colour, 1 year ago, OMG!!!!

Living Colour has been one of my biggest influences as a musician and as a bassist, and they've had two of the best bassists in the business, Muzz Skillings and Doug Wimbish. They also have one of the most creative guitarist(Vernon Reid) and one of the greatest drummers(Will Calhoun) in music, ever. The thing that really gets me in these recent clips, though, is how Corey Glovers voice is just as powerful and clear as it was back in the 80's! It is INCREDIBLE! There aren't too many bands from that time period that don't have to tune down to accommodate a singer that can't get it done in the original key. Living Colour is still playing all their songs in the original key they were written in! Not only are they one of the most talented bands, EVA', but CG has platinum vocal cords! That dude won the lottery when it comes to vocal ability!

Completely agree on Corey--saw them live about 3 years ago in a club that holds less than 300 and he was unbelievable! Oh, and the rest of the band killed, of course. They did Vivid front to back plus other material, even pulling out the B side cover of Should I Stay Or Should I Go? Loved that show.

Not really a “zombie” thread because I saw them Saturday at Summerfest in Milwaukee, and EVERYTHING in the original post still holds…
OP was in 2018, it’s 2021 now, and the band sounds as energized and fresh as ever…just with 30+ years’ experience.

Corey Glover ran circles around the album versions of his vocals.

The whole band was just untouchable…I’m still geeking out about it!

Dude! I was just watching some Living Colour YT vids a few days ago from this year and, yes, THEY STILL SLAY!! I still can't figure out why any discussion about who are some of the best male vocalists ever, doesn't include Corey Glover?! Any list of top vocalists that doesn't include CG is completely invalid.
