Local Squier 5-string Jazz for $100

I'm tempted to go grab this. 64 miles away, seller said it's been played a lot but plays perfectly fine, looks pretty good in the pics. I'd like to have a bass to leave at my rehearsal space, one less thing to tote to practice, would also allow me to ride my Harley to practice during fair weather.

What kind of Squier 5 is it?

Simply says Squier J Bass on the headstock. Appears the tone knob is stacked, but that's the only unusual thing I see about it.

So upon asking the seller if the neck is straight and if the truss rod still works, he replies "To the best of my knowledge, it may be just slightly off the neck straightness. Otherwise, it never came with a trust rod when I got it dem the music place."

Me- has it been removed? That's odd lol
Seller- I never got a truss rod when I got it, so I don't know
Me- It's inside the neck lol, there's nothing inside that little hole in the headstock?

Me- See that hole under the A string? That's where the truss rod is, you stick an allen wrench in there and turn it to make neck adjustments
Seller- Ahh, I understand, I'm not too familiar with truss rods and what not on a bass so yeah lmao.

If that neck is warped to hell, a 1.5 hr drive one way is a pretty big waste of time, even if it is only $100...And I don't really feel like trying to coerce a wrecked neck back into being straight. Think I'd rather spend a little more dough on something closer in that case, seeing as how this guy has no idea what's being talked about

However you can look at it this way, the truss rod has never been touched as the seller was unaware of its existence. I bought a bass like this before, a seller didn't adjust the bass whatsoever,didn't know how to, slight bow as a result from years of not adjusting the neck, easily fixed by adjusting the untouched truss rod.

Lol actually it was the driving time there and back (at least 3hrs). He's getting really weird about the matter, I'm gonna let him down easy.
