Long gig. Would you do it?

Sure, I'd do something like that no problem provided the pay reflected the work. At the rate that you mentioned, no, I wouldn't do it but I'd have no problem working a long day in the heat if the pay was worth it. I regularly work ~15 hour days in the heat but if I'm making ~$1000/day I'll do it.

I'd consider this several ways.

160 charts and all day (inside or outside) is a whole lotta music. What is your price ordinarily for a 'regular' four or five hour job, and how many charts is inside that time frame. I'm thinking 160 charts has got to be at least the same thing as two nightly gigs' worth, if not three or even four. And are these songs you'll have to work up?

The other Gorilla in the Room, however: IS this being requested by your regular, long-term casino bookers, and would refusing this upset any of those relationships? If this would significantly alter or even derail those relationships and jeapordize your long term work prospects in these venues, it just may be one of those things you'll have to suck up and get through in order to keep long-term work. And if you do it, does this help those relationships by doing a tough one ?

These are things I don't know, but would be the way I'd be framing this in my mind, if you can re-negotiate somewhat.

Good Luck.

Personally, that’s too much for one band, much less the individual. Not just high temps, but the high humidity. If you are going to do this, bring a comfy chair, an industrial thick rubber mat for standing, a reliable fan and plenty of Gatorade. Take care, buddy.

Yes, I could do it, and would do it, assuming that I already knew most of the songs. But I would not do it for only $750. That's peanuts for that kind of work and expense on your part. You're better off having those days of your life free, and not having the $750.

As a matter or principle, one should never be willing to play a gig (or perform ANY type of truly skilled labor) at which you are clearing less than $50 an hour, after all expenses and taxes. You should be getting $2,000 gross for the gig, at a bare minimum.
