Fellow Tbers,
As prob most of you already know, Germany has lost a fairly lousy game to Italy, 2 to 0 with both goals less than 5 minutes before the end of extra time. What a shame, the second goal by del Piero completely shut up everyone including myself gathering round the tv at my friends house, since the 2nd goal was like less than 2 minutes after the first goal. I just thought i would make a thread.

Oh and happy the 4th to everyone!!!
Just dont get hit by mis-fired mortars, ok!
ok time to go blow some stuff up!!!!!!

Well, Italy deserved to win as they made the best extra time, and what ind of goals they did!

Yeah, that was too bad. I was hoping Germany would move on. The first goal, while well-placed was unlucky for Lehmann (sp?) as his view was completely obscured by his two defenders. The second goal, well. . . that was a brilliant counter attack, and Del Piero's shot was freaking unbelievable! Too bad Italy didn't even deserve to be there in the first place after the Australia game :scowl:. Australia got robbed in that one!!!

Actually I never really liked futbol before this year. I always just dismissed it with pretty much every other sport. I took time to watch a game this year and understood what the fuss was about. I can really appreciate the game now.

Italy shouldn't have even been versing Germany, Australia should of stopped them in the round of 16.

Personally, I'm okay with it, I'm not a huge fan of football/soccer anyway and the fanboys were becoming really annoying.

In the UK and Australia (and probably New Zealand as well), it's called football, in the US and Canada it's called soccer.

It was a great soccer game. Both teams could've won but Italy were the sharpest team at the end of the game. Though, if Italy doesn't win the final, I am sure Hollywood can use the acting talents of those players

Soccer is like the only sport where grown men throw themselves down in "agony" for the slightest of contact, and seconds after they are up and running. Way to go you sissy actor rule abusers.
