Double Bass Long shot: good UB tech in Eastern NC?

There are a couple mom & pop stores locally that rent and 'work on' uprights. But was hoping someone could recommend a good one within a reasonable driving distance of Fayetteville NC? Two hours or less. As hard as it is too find a GOOD guitar tech I imagine it's 10x harder for UBs.

Also, what should a setup cost, assuming adjusting bridge, soundpost, etc with nothing big out of whack? I have no idea even of a range.

I recently paid $75 here in St. Louis for a new sound post and setup.

I played a buddy's Shen the other day that had a setup from the Bass Violin Shop. It was very well done. Never been but I can recommend based on that.. No idea what they charge though.

I don't know my Carolina geography very well, if you can get to Bob's shop in a day, GO! (I've dealt with him via the internet and he's terrific)

All those are quite a few hours away unfortunately.

I watched videos and read for two days and then sanded the feet and reset the bridge myself. Much like working on a Gretsch bridge. Noticeable volume increase. More sustain.

Google is wrong. Very wrong.

I lived in GSO for 15 years and commuted down here to see family. And now I ride up every couple months to see a club brother. And I ride like I stole it. Even I can't make city limit to city limit in 1.5 hrs, much less get anywhere in the city. And I ride to see my son in Asheville a few times a year. I count on 4+ hrs to get to where he lives.

Sometimes I think Google maps is on crack.

But I'm kinda learning to work on it myself. It ain't rocket surgery unless we're talking about structural stuff. I'd definitely make a trip for that kinda stuff.

Was just hoping some knew an upright wizard down here in the sandhills.
