I've got a Squier that I love, but since I got my t40, I don't think I'm going to be playing it for a while. Right now I've got it stored in a gig bag leaning upright against the wall. Will this hurt it if I leave it like that long term?

That can damage the neck if it sits like that too long. Put it on a stand or hang it on the wall!!!!! If neither of those work, get a hardcase and put it under your bed or something.

I don't think that will damage the bass, but it does leave it vulnerable to getting tipped over, which will break it.

long term , bass goes out of tune -tension on neck changes - then neck warp

Thanks all. I just didn't want it to get dusty on the stand. Guess I'll have to not try to cheap my way around it and shell out for the hsc.
Hmmm... I had a Dean 5 string that I left in an uninsulated attic for 2 years; surprisingly, it was fine when I finally came to my senses and got it out of there.
