I got the split cable from the folks a Gollihur. It has an xlr and 1/4” on each side. I have a realist lifeline on this bass as well and blend as needed. Should clean up cable mgmt a bit.

yah, this thing is very small and light. All reviews Ive seen say it performs very well even with live drums. I’m hoping not to have to blend in any piezo if possible. We will see in a few hours.

Yes, no P.A. tonight. I use an AI Clarus with pick up on one channel and mic on the other. Delivers a very clean sound.

It’s the h clamp. I got it from Gollihur’s too. Easy to put on and place the mic exactly where you want it.

Was a slight learning curve with correctly screwing on the capsule. Afterwards it performed almost as well as expected. Very natural tone. Did not really get to the volume I hoped before feedback. Tried it a good bit at home this week and think I have it dialed in and at th right location. Will see after gigs this weekend. I’ll get a better update after more live performance.

I started off wanting the MK41 and the guy at Schoeps suggested the MK 4.

Looks like you went right on top of the sound post. I found it more clear during my testing this week about 4 inches above and pointed right at the sound post.

I’m curious, what are you running it into and are you doing any blending?

I use a Grace Felix and I sometimes mix in a bit of the Schertler Stat b pickup. I run it through a Schertler powered cab on a pole.

This thread just makes me more interested in the CMC1/MK41 for recording and performance. Through TB members Kaspar, Vunz and now Jim, praising the Schoeps along Larry Grenadier’s live performances I’ve heard live, using the MK41 capsule, in clubs and large concert halls, I think it’s worth exploring. Since I have both the Remic DB 5400 series there’s no immediate hurry, but it’s on my list.
