It seems like all quivers are either made by the same manufacturer or at least same design these days. About 30 years ago I bought this really cool round quiver with a big round mouth opening that was very sturdy and framed around wire. I found it at the Bass Shop in Cincinnati and paid good money for it back then. Anyone know of a similar quiver available today?

Does it have to be round? I got this ProTec quiver at Gage's, it's kind of a triangular opening, but it's rigid so it doesn't 'vacuum form' to your bow when in use...
There's a lady on etsy that hand makes leather quivers. I don't know if she's still on there, but she'll make it however you like, and they're absolutely beautiful. Not cheap, but very cool.
I have one similar to the one @Ed Fuqua has shown. It's pretty firm in the opening, and thick leather, thick and stiff enough that I've been able to mount a pre-amp on the back side of it.
Another option is inserting a round piece of clothes hanger wire, or (acoustic ceiling hanger wire is my preference) inside the upper fold of the quiver to hold it open.

Oh that looks very similar in construction and quality to the one I had. I’ll go give that a look! Thank you.
Found the Protec on Amazon and I’ll have it Sunday. Can’t wait. TB does it again. 
For years I used an actual quiver(for arrows) that I got at Cabela's. It was kind of heavy but had a nice big opening and was fairly easy to put on the tailpiece. I took it off when I really wasn't using the bow much on gigs, but it was pretty functional.

Decades ago I made my own (small, stiff) bow quiver, after finding most commercially available quivers overly "big, loose, sloppy, and floppy."
I've rarely had any difficulty inserting a long, stiff object into a compact, oval opening.

I have a Reunion Blues quiver, and I found the opening to be too narrow when left to its own devices. I took a piece of spring steel—actually a broken-off bristle from a street sweeper brush that you commonly find in the street—and inserted it inside the lip under the “hem”. Open wide and say “A-h-h”.

It did and I do. Went to order another yesterday and they were sold out lol. Oh well gonna have to wait a few weeks or so to get another one for my other bass. But I like it just fine. Very well made and just what I was looking for.
