As I currently only own one bass, it needs to be an excellent arco string as well.

I'm currently experimenting with a Orig flat chrome, which isn't bad at all. But something that mates a little better with the toasted muffin sound of broken-in Spiros. The OFC is new, so it might mellow and work out even better.

What does anybody say about an Oliv G with those?
(Never ventured down that road, but I figure at least once - but since it's so expensive, only if there's a good possibility that it would work with the Spiros, transitioning to the weich D in particular.)

But in reality some people like the evah weich G with spiro weich. Oliv G is good. Obligato maybe and zyex lights is a good idea as well.

The Olive G is a beautiful string but I don’t know if I would use it with a Spirocore Weich D. Just too different. Its diameter is more than a mittel D and I think it is pretty dark sounding. I am loving it next to an Obligato D. Maybe an Obligato or Evah Weich G.

Spirocore G strings can be great on some basses but in my experience trying them on lots of basses, not many can take them without sounding like a buzz saw. The E and A Mitts are always a safe bet.

People don’t talk about this string too often, but maybe a Jargar dolce G? Warm sound, nice tension match with that set, thick gauge for a steel string, nice arco. Pretty cheap, too.

Thanks, I have used FDs in the past (the whole set was great on my previous bass) -- will try just the G with this comb of Spiros.

I've used Spiro mitt EA with FDs on top and it's a versatile combination.

Put a broken-in one on yesterday — Flex deluxe G is working fine for me. Tempted to put on an FD D string, but I’m really enjoying the return to a (mostly) Spirocore set, so I think I’ll leave the string winder in the drawer for awhile.

Did you try the Super -Flex G? Had good success with the Mittles on the rest of them. Sounded good with Weich,but the tension was a little too much, I felt with those.
Using currently on one Bass all Super-Flex with Mitt E. Works great for Arco and Pizz ...
