Double Bass Looking for a good (and cheap) hard case for my upright

Hi Guys,

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've been looking at a model from Roth & Junius on thomann ([Invalid or Expired Link Removed]) and I wonder if anybody knows this case? I can't seem to find pictures of the inside. I'm also looking for it's outer dimensions.

I'm also interested in different models.
I live in Belgium, so it's favourable to look inside the EU, I guess.

Could someone help me out, please?

Thanks!

There are cheaper hardshell cases being imported here in the States that sell for around $350 USD. I'm sure they are available to you throuh an importer in your country. Based on the product description in the link you posted, I suspect the cases I am referring to are not as well built. I think of my case the same way I think of any cheap piece of luggage: treat it with care and it'll do the job. After a couple of years of over the road travel, it is showing wear, but it's still doing its job. However I don't think it would survive more than a couple of flights...

Hi, check this out

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

This store is in Liege

I don't know it, neither store or case, just found it on the internet while searching for a case, never ordered from them because shipping for my country costs more then the case itself

Between this and the Roth there are a 10Kg difference to consider...

Best Regards

Those big foam cases are not very sturdily constructed. The zippers fail very quickly and the joints come next. I'm talking months...

Thanks again for the info. I just checked it out, but it seems that the costs for shipping to Belgium would be as expensive as the case itself. I guess I'm better off buying the case I had in mind...

The links were provided to show that there is an inexpensive case available. The Liege store is the way to go! Pay close attention to the measurements, though. I've found that these cases can be rather small. Mine is barely long enough to fit my basses.
