Looking for a preamp pedal to replace my Terror Bass

I recommend a preamp that can output at line level so you can plug into any amp's return jack thereby bypassing the amp's own preamp.

Regarding this, since that is the way I intend to use it, won't any "preamp" labeled pedal plug in the Return of an amplifier?
Some pedals out there have an "Output" output and a "Line out" output, but most of the preamp pedals on the market just have a standard output (most of the suggestions here and most of the options I found as well). Are these pedals solely meant to be in the chain in front of an amp and can't be used to bypass a preamp?

Origin Effects Bassrig '64 could get you there but its almost as much as a Helix without the i/o flexibility. Frog pedals also makes a real tube Fender pre in stomp box form.

Don't forget the Orange Bass Butler! Even if you don't use the gain channel you can send the clean channel by itself. It creates that awesome vintage orange clean tone.

Coming from an Orange amp, the first brand I considered was Orange. I was hoping something in the field of the Terror Stamp or the Bax Bangeetar but for bass, but it seems that their only bass preamp is the Bass Butler. But just like Ampeg took decades to release their own SVT-in-a-box, I can't believe so many companies release AD200B / Terror based preamps and not Orange themselves...
As you said, I have no need for the gain channel, and since it's quite pricey, I don't see myself put the price for what I will use as a simple preamp and a DI but overpriced.
But if Orange ever release a standard preamp at a more common price, I'm totally going for it!

Unfortunately preamp is a loose term. Some devices labeled preamp are just tone shapers designed to plug into the front end of an amp, like the Joyo pedals mentioned. A true preamp, like a Sansamp, can output a hotter signal at line level to plug straight into a power amp. Not all power amps have the same input sensitivity but generally a tone shaper pedal won't drive it, you'll get a quiet and noisy sound. Pedals that output at line level usually advertise it.
