Looking for a very specific jazz bass

I’m digging my buddy’s rare-ish Fender JBR-1000 Jazz Bass. I’m a Modulus guy primarily, so I suspect I’m draw to the clarity of the graphite reinforced neck and the 18v active pickups. It also looks rad. My question is, do any of you know of a 5 string version that sounds similar? Or more broadly, a jazz style with a good B string, graphite or graphite reinforced neck, and active pickups. To my ears, the Am Fenders with the graphite reinforced necks made currently don’t have the clarity, and I haven’t loved the pickup/preamp setups.

I’ve only seen four string and they come up on Reverb and eBay. I haven’t seen one locally.
The four strings go for good money.

I guess I’m asking if Fender makes a 5 string that’s similar. I know there isn’t a five string version

As mentioned, I’ve played but haven’t been impressed with the newer Am Fenders with the graphite rods. They don’t seem to have the same clarity as the JBR-1000.

I’d love to try a Fender Heartfield, but they’re also very rare. I’m hoping that there is some late 80s early 90s Fender jazz style bass that has the graphite and active pickups on a 5er.

Note sure why the newer ones don’t have the zing that the older ones have. I’m sure someone with more knowledge than I on such matters has a theory.

If you are willing to ditch the fender headstock, I hear Sadowsky and Lakland make great stuff.

I’ve had a Lakland and a G&L and not kept them. Haven’t come across a Sadowsky. I know there are dozens of basses that kind of fit my description - Sire V10, Modulus Genesis, Kiesel JB5, etc - but there is something about Fenders, particularly the MIJ and CIK basses, that appeal to me.

I think the graphite rods are the best for preventing dead spots (and saving weight), but if you don't like them, you can have your local luthier swap them for steel

I’m on board with graphite - in fact I prefer them. The question is, is there a Fender 5 string MIJ or CIJ with the graphite reinforcement on a 5 string?
