Looking for an Octaver with OC-2 sound

I own the KMA Queequeg,and it's a good one knob ez .I hear it as more in the Meat Box line of things.At the other end of the spectrum I have Laney's - Black Country Custom: The 85'. It does multiple intervals with 4 knobs,a 3 way switch and a button giving the bassist tons of parameters to control.It does the OC-2 sounds,or in the ballpark at least.

Great job demoing the various pedals! OC-2 is the winner for me all day, but YMMV of course! I don't use my P-Bass much anymore, but the ones I am using are low output passive basses; definitely OC-2 friendly.

I had an OC-3 which I just sold yesterday. It sounded very much like the OC-5 in basically every setting. Close, but definitely not identical to the original OC-2 circuit.

I've been on a similar search in the UK, but prices over here seem to be the equivalent of ~$250-300+ for one. Plus given the age of the pedal (and how beat up a lot of the 2nd hand ones are...), I've been on the lookout for a modern equivalent that's easily obtainable.

Was looking at the MXR Vintage Octave, but they also seem to be out of stock everwhere here too.

I have the old OC2 and the new OC5. Although a diehard OC2 user since the mid 80s I must say the OC5, with the right tweaking, does a good job.
The OC3 never got close in my ears and digital sub octave never seems to balance as good as the analog ones if it’s the octave down you’re after.

Yeah, I think I'd have more luck ordering from the US and sucking up import duty, prices seem to be more sane at the moment. Though to be honest I'm not actively hunting at the moment, I'll have a look every now and again to see if I can find one, but not spending much time on it.

Ah, thanks, good spot, might pre-order one, wait time was several months at other places I've looked.

I would love to see how many people could really tell the difference between the various versions of the OC-2 and the vintage mode on the OC-5. Like, a blind test with the Japan version, Taiwan version, OC-5, black label, silver label, etc. etc. yada yada.

I'd bet a shiny nickel that no one would have more than a coinflip chance of being correct in their guesses.

I haven’t done an actual blind test but I have heard the OC2 and 3 next to each other. The difference in tone is completely noticeable to me, and I don’t see how I could fail.

So just send me that nickel now.
