Double Bass Looking for EUB

Just got rid of a plywood Englehardt upright bass that I've had collecting dust for 20 years or so. Just too much to carry around I suppose. So now I'm looking to purchase an Electric Upright. I would prefer something on a solid stand as opposed to an end pin. Also looking for the feel that is closer to a regular electric bass...I think. I have been researching every thing at $1500 or less.

Musicians Friend has an open box Stagg for $679. Even though it's on a pin the price is very good. But the reviews are not so good and I read that the neck is thick...I am 67 years old, 5' 5" with small arthritic hands. So something easier to play that isn't 6 foot tall maybe. I do like the looks and reviews for the NS Design stuff. Lastly I do plan to use it for live performances but will not be using it exclusively. Probably a few songs per set, at least that's the goal for now.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I recently got a Knudson Messenger bass. More like an upright at 41” scale but breaks down for easily transport and has a rock solid stand. I never use…but it’s a great sounding EUB. My teacher even wondered why I still want a regular 3/4 DB it sounds that good when put through the proper amp. I got that too. AI Coda series. All in all a small footprint. I 58, 40 years in construction and have fairly arthritics hands too, but I love this bass. My 2cents..

I think the NS Design Wav4 or NXT4 Omni line looks like a good match for me. Thinking that I'll pull the trigger at the first of the new year. The Wav4 Omni's are out of stock at the 15% discount stores at the moment.

Hi, You don't seem to be set up for Private messages. If you'd like to send me your email address by PM thru TB I will let you know about my EUB.

Thx,

Rick
