Looking For Long Stems

A search didn't bring up anything useful for me, so I thought I'd ask.

I'm looking for a set of chromed 2+2 clover/elephant ear machines with long--I mean looonng-- stems. As some of you may recall, I am blind and though I really need your help, please don't just show me pics. The longest I've seen--Which is the shortest I want--were from a '51 RI. Again though, this is for a 2+2 headstock; a custom, so hole size doesn't matter.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well, for several years now, I've been using a program called JAWS (Job Access With Speech). It reads text and 'labeled' graphics, but even this technology is slowly falling behind the common place tech stuff. For now though, I can read about all the cool basses here on TB; (sigh) I just can't see them.

I kind of figured this to be the case, but I'm looking to put these into a 2+2 headstock. So, do you (or anyone else) know if the Fender vintage reversable tuners are able to be taken apart and refitted for the opposite side of the headstock? Or, is it likely that any Fender vintage replacements are so reversable?

I've never had my 1962 Fender tuners off but I don't think you can flip those oldies, the worm bearing loops are welded on the plate I think and the worm is larger diameter and won't slide through. Now the Schallers on my old Gibson G3 are reversible because the loops are bent into the plate and the worm drops out when the retainer spring is removed;,they are the same design today. Hipshot are not reversible you need to order left and right.

I'm sorry, I should have said I looked at the dimensions and that the website clearly states left and right. Keep forgetting you're blind. Well I'm sure you enjoyed talking with them anyway. Good luck, the Hipshots are very good tuners and you'll love them

One thing, the bearings on the stalks have a tension screw, you set with an Allen key. They work really well at getting the resistance feeling just right on each key. If it wasn't there, they would feel loose because of the high gear ratio; it really reduces the force to turn the key a lot. They just feel so loose compared to low ratio gears.
